This summer at Adventure4Change was one to remember. With programs such as our five weeks of summer camps and our Youth Leadership Intensive, our community came alive with creativity, and connection. None of it would have been possible without the incredible Staff, Youth Leaders, Volunteers and Life-Long Change Makers who gave their time and energy to make this summer unforgettable.
Building Leaders Through the Youth Leadership Intensive
Thirty youth participated in our Youth Leadership Intensive, gaining skills in teamwork, responsibility, and mentorship. Throughout July and August, these young leaders stepped into roles as leaders-in-training, co-leading activities, supporting staff, and mentoring children in our camps.
But their leadership growth went beyond the day-to-day. Through workshops and guided reflections, youth explored:
- The difference between “power with” vs. “power over” in leadership.
- That what makes a good leader is one rooted in humility and service.
- The pyramid structure of leadership, emphasizing shared responsibility.
- Choosing service over traditional leadership models.
- The importance of teamwork, communication, and safety in every setting.
They also had continual check-ins with Adventure4Change staff to reflect on challenges, celebrate wins, and strengthen their leadership toolkit week by week. These intentional touchpoints helped the youth apply what they learned and grow in confidence and maturity throughout the summer.
To celebrate their journey, the program wrapped up with an outing to Canada’s Wonderland on August 22. It was a well-deserved day of fun, laughter, and reflection on how far they’ve come over the summer. We are so grateful that these youth are not only leaders of tomorrow, but that they are also Life-Long Change Makers already making an impact today.

Summer Camps: Creativity, Culture, and Connection
Our five camp weeks brought together children, youth, and their families for exploration and fun. With activities involving painting, music, cultural education, hands-on science adventures and experiments; everyone at camp went beyond the classroom to discover the wealth of fun, history and knowledge that is all around us. Each week campers were visited by dignitaries and guests, and got to entertain them with unique camp performances.
Every week ended with a talent show, where families gathered to cheer on their children’s creativity from juggling to hula hooping to dancing. These moments reminded us how powerful it is when families and communities come together to celebrate the creativity and skills that are found within them.

Life-Long Change Makers: The Heart of Our Summer
At Adventure4Change, we do not just have volunteers, we have Life-Long Change Makers. People who are determined to make an impact that lasts a lifetime. These incredible individuals gave their time, talents, and hearts to ensure camps ran smoothly and joyfully.
They helped with everything from mentorship and food distribution to leading activities and cheering on youth. Despite busy lives, they showed up consistently, proving that community is built together.
Because of them, hundreds of children and families experienced a safe, fun, and supportive summer environment. Their impact will ripple far beyond the summer months.
As we look ahead, this summer showed us once again that when community members, youth leaders, and volunteers come together, transformation happens.
We are deeply grateful to every staff member, volunteer, funder, partner, family who made this summer a success. You are truly all Life-Long Change Makers and together, we are building leaders, creating joyful memories, and strengthening the fabric of our community for lifelong positive impact.
