For the past three years, Adventure4Change has brought together community members, partners, leaders, volunteers, and supporters for an evening dedicated to celebration, connection, and the collective sharing of impact. This year, over 250 people gathered at RIM Park’s Forbes Hall on May 7th for Adventure4Change’s 2026 Cultural Event.
The room was filled with excitement as guests arrived to intentionally set tables, music, cultural food, and an atmosphere grounded in community spirit and belonging.
Our Theme: Rooted and Rising – Grounded in Purpose, Growing Together!
This year’s theme, Rooted and Rising — Grounded in Purpose, Growing Together, was intentionally chosen to reflect our journey as a community: honouring our stories, moving with purpose, and building something greater together.
“Rooted and Rising” represents the importance of honouring where we come from while continuing to grow into what comes next. “Grounded in Purpose” reminds us to move intentionally, driven by impact and a shared vision for stronger communities. Together, we rise by supporting, uplifting, and building alongside one another thus growing together every step of the way.
The Night
The evening created space for people from diverse backgrounds to come together, celebrate identity, share stories, and reflect on the importance of belonging and inclusion within our community.
Guests were welcomed with cultural appetizers, a mocktail station, and interactive community booths, including Basadi Sewing’s display of handmade products and the CYPT booth, which encouraged guests to participate in their community survey. These moments created opportunities for connection even before the formal program began.
Throughout the night, attendees experienced a dynamic and engaging program featuring youth cultural dance performances, a cultural fashion show presented by Basadi Sewing, inspiring community stories, volunteer recognition awards, interactive activities, and a powerful keynote address that challenged attendees to intentionally create spaces that include those who are often underrepresented.
One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was recognizing outstanding changemakers whose leadership and dedication continue to strengthen our community. Awards presented throughout the night included the:

- Rising Leadership Award
- Seeds of Impact Award
Each award celebrated individuals making lasting contributions through leadership, innovation, service, and community impact by our volunteers. Recognizing our volunteers was crucial as they are the heart of Adventure4Change’s work, playing a critical role in helping programs, events, and initiatives come to life.
Supporting Community Impact
In addition to being a celebration of culture and community, the event also served as an important fundraiser in support of Adventure4Change’s ongoing work in North Waterloo. Funds raised throughout the evening will help support programs and initiatives focused on youth empowerment, leadership development, community connection, and creating spaces where individuals and families can thrive.
The evening reflected the power of collective action and what is possible when communities come together with a shared commitment to belonging, opportunity, and transformation.
