Adventure4Change recently celebrated a remarkable day filled with connection, culture, and community impact. Two major milestones: the official launch of Basadi, our social enterprise, and the debut of our first-ever Night Bazaar Fundraiser. Together, these events brought together families, partners, and the neighbourhood at large in powerful and inspiring ways.

Basadi: Empowering Community Mothers Through Economic Opportunity
Basadi is an innovative social enterprise designed to support community mothers through skills development, confidence building, and pathways to economic independence. Basadi provides newcomer women with sewing skills training, peer support, and opportunities to participate in meaningful income-generating work.
The launch featured a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by members and supporters, including representatives from the Ontario Trillium Foundation and MPP Catherine Fife’s office. The Launch of Basadi highlighted the importance of removing economic barriers and creating inclusive opportunities for women in our community.
We were honoured to welcome CBC, The Waterloo Region Record, and local radio stations, who joined us to capture the voices, stories, and momentum emerging from this enterprise. Their coverage helps amplify the everyday impact of the families and youth we serve and highlights the strength of community-led change.

Night Bazaar Fundraiser: A Vibrant Evening of Community & Culture
We also hosted our first-ever Night Bazaar Fundraiser, an energetic evening that brought together Funders, Donors, partners and community members. Guests enjoyed dishes lovingly prepared by our incredible community moms, explored and bought handmade creations from the Basadi team, and participated in a lively auction featuring items generously donated by Four All Ice Cream and Framing & Art Centre.
Every ticket, purchase, and donation directly supports Adventure4Change programs that walk alongside families , building confidence, belonging, skills, and leadership opportunities. The Night Bazaar showcased the talent within our neighbourhoods and demonstrated the power of communal gatherings in creating lasting impact.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, cooked, created, supported, and celebrated with us. These two events reflect the heart of Adventure4Change: empowering families, creating spaces where every voice is valued and changing communities by inspiring people towards lives of self worth, respect, opportunity and contribution.
The launch of Basadi and the success of our Night Bazaar mark only the beginning. Together, we look forward to building stronger neighbourhoods and expanding opportunities for children, youth, and families in North Waterloo.
